Uses for Google Sketchup
Google Sketchup is a powerful 3D modeling program that is designed with developers in mind. It is used by designers, artitects, engineers, etc. to make models and synchronize it with google earth to see what it would look like on real-world coordinates. Google Sketchup is easy to use, so anyone from beginner to expert modelers can use it. It is also fun if you just want to make stuff.
Internet Privacy Concerns
Latitude is a program invented by no other than ours truly, google. They have invented revolutionary programs such as google earth and now they present to us its counterpart. But is it too much? Have they gone too far for giving us programs only seen in james bond?
the Latitude can be installed into your cellphone, and if you allow your friends or family, they can see where you are at any given time on google map through their own cellphones or computers. This is convenient and cool because it works like a tracking system. The bad part is if someone is cellphone illiterate, you can put this program on their cellphone without them knowing and basically spy on wherever they go.
Facebook is a social network that allows you to communicate with your friends and family, but is that all? Internet lurkers can also access your page, see your posts, and look at your pictures… if you allow them. luckily facebook allows you to change privacy options and you can block these lurkers out and only allow your friends to access your page.
It is impossible to control what goes onto the internet but there are ways of preventing unwanted pictures of you being uploaded. First, don’t be in a situation where someone can take a picture of you and use it against you. If the person taking the picture is your friend, you can simply ask them not to. On facebook, you have the option to not allow people to tag you, but the picture will still be there.
I don’t think that employers should do that, but what is stopping them. For employers who care about who they hire, they have been researching about their employees way before the internet came out, this way the information can just be accessed more easily. Though, I believe employers should hire people based on their skill and work ethics, not on what type of friends they have.
Digglet
Most people, when they want to watch a music video, they will usually go to youtube. Often, it will not be the full official music video or they won’t be even able to find it at all. MTV is releasing a site that will be full of music videos, ever since the first MVs were created. Videos are being added by the day, so eventually all videos will be up. Now you can go to a site that is dedicated to music videos instead of YouTube.

The netgear powerline is one of the most useful inventions that i have never heard of until now. It enables you to get access to the internet for the devices that use it, from virtually all around your house without all the net wires. All you need is power outlets and you plug these into them and they act as a port as if the router was there. No more cables all around the house and no technical confusions trying to setup the wireless.
This device proves to be very useful, especially in an age where the neatness of wireless is a nice necessity but there are still many gadgets that still use wires. As useful as it may be, I would not recommend it to hardcore pc gamers because it’s wireless and wireless sucks(many disturbances in the air). It would be amazing for everyone else if it worked properly.
HW#2 – cellphones
This being my last year in highschool, I would want to accomplish all my goals that I set for myself so I don’t have any unfinished business when I leave. And I want to have a smooth transition out. I’m interested in technology that has to do with media entertainment; TVs, cameras, DVDs, players. I probably can’t live without a display screen (including projectors) because what good is a computer or an awesome movie if you can’t see what’s going on? I think it would be cool if we learned how to make our cellphones emit sonar that we can see with 3d vision glasses. >=]
